Tom’s passion is for live performance and attractions. Blending all of the visual theatrical frameworks with technology has been the core of his Creative and Artistic Direction.
Tom has worked for a plethora of well-known individuals and companies including The Walt Disney Corporation, Universal Studios, Dreamworks SKG, The Hettema Group, Paramount, Thinkwell Group, and the Hilton Corporation.
Uniting his skills in Lighting, Scenic, Projection and Illusion Design his career spans many theatrical, large-scale event and attraction disciplines. Examples include Meet Mickey and Tarzan: Call of the Wild at Shanghai Disney Resort. Mystic Rhythms at Tokyo Disney Sea. Production design for a world-class opera house theater featuring surround 3D LED screens in Illusions. Scenic and magic illusions design for Imagine at the Luxor in Las Vegas. Theatrical scenic/lighting design for world-renowned British director William Gaskil’s, The Trojan Women and Saint Joan of the Stockyard. Productions requiring large scale still and video imagery, Tom was director to many Corporate and theatrical shows that have utilized 90’ tall, 200 degree registered video on full scale buildings/organic scenery with multi-plane video projection. His projections can also be seen in multiple ice shows, including How To Train Your Dragon.Tom has been a driving force in the expansion of Halloween Horror events. He was producer of the Halloween Haunt for Knott’s Scary Farm and was writer/director of “The Hanging”. His “Halloween” skills have been contracted to all the major themed park corporations. He was creator and creative director for Dark Harbor at the Queen Mary
Tom was awarded the prestigious THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement in themed entertainment for Fear Factor Live at Universal Studios Hollywood and Mystic Rhythms at Tokyo Disney Sea.
Last but not least, Tom has also been an Artist in Residence with the University of California, Davis.
